Fluoroscopy

fluoroscanFluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a continuous x-ray on a monitor. In podiatry, fluoroscopy is used in a wide variety of examinations and procedures for diagnosing and treating patients. Our practice uses the Fluoroscan mini C-arm by Hologic. The Fluoroscan mini C-arm uses a flat detector with exclusive rotating capabilities that provides high sensitivity, resulting in lower dose and high quality images.

During the x-ray scanning process, the rotating detector is passed over the area that requires scanning. This will allow the scanner to capture images of the targeted area. These images are then transmitted to the HD touchscreen monitor to allow for viewing. The Fluoroscan mini C-arm by Hologic provides the podiatrist with general fluoroscopic visualization of a patient, which can include surgical use, critical and emergency care procedures, and light anatomy imaging needs.
